Advocacy Media for Street Children: A Social Campaign for Non-Profit Institution 'Save Street Child' on New Media
This bachelor's thesis was completed as part of the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design at Universitas Paramadina (Jakarta, Indonesia). I graduated with Cum Laude honors in February 2012.
I chose to focus on a social campaign, with the principal subject being the street children of Jakarta. At that time, I was actively volunteering with the Save Street Child community. The main campaign's key message was "bantu mereka untuk masa depan," which translates to "help them for the future" in English. My thesis culminated in a short documentary that portrayed street children's lives, shedding light on their daily struggles and the underlying societal issues. The social campaign was executed on various social media platforms, aiming to leverage the power of digital media to amplify its reach and impact. This project allowed me to combine my passion for social justice with my skills in media production, aiming to raise awareness and foster understanding about this vulnerable population. The experience was profoundly impactful, providing me with a deeper insight into the complexities of urban poverty and reinforcing my commitment to advocacy and social change.
